Role Description
As a senior consultant, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of client engagements, working with senior client leadership and managing small internal project teams. You’ll also help to support key internal projects contributing to the ongoing growth and operations of the company. We are a high energy and entrepreneurial team – commitment, risk-taking and a strong work ethic is essential, as is a sense of fun.

Key activities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Structured problem solving – thinking creatively and logically to diagnose key challenges faced by our clients and planning a rigorous approach to conducting research and analysis
  • Client relationship management – cultivating strong, enduring relationships with our clients and broader networks
  • Data analysis – applying rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis, including the development of business case models, financial models and impact evaluations
  • Strategy development – applying sector knowledge and insights from analyses to develop transformational strategies, value propositions, and operational reform
  • Communicating and facilitating – communicating insights through written, spoken, and visual mediums, running effective workshops, and effectively persuading and influencing key stakeholders
  • Implementing and embedding – working closely with a range of clients from frontline staff through to CEOs and Trustees to build consensus, embed recommendations, redevelop business processes and train staff

Candidate Profile


  • At least 2-3 years’ previous consulting or equivalent experience with demonstrated expertise in strategy, planning and operational improvement in the health (NHS, organisation working in the health sector or consulting firm specialised in healthcare)
  • Passion for social sector work in the UK
  • Ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels and manage stakeholders, to drive change
  • Ability to manage a high workload with multiple competing priorities and work with a high degree of proactivity and autonomy
  • Hands on, operationally minded, pragmatic and highly organised
  • Strong academic background (minimum of 2:1 degree from a leading higher institution)
  • Effective communication skills and complete fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment


  • Advanced degree (e.g. M.Sc., MBA, PhD)
  • Previous experience: NHS, Healthcare or Health Commissioning
